Affiliate Summit West 2018 (ASW18) took place this January 7-9, at the Paris in Las Vegas. As usual, it was heavily attended by a wide range of merchants and digital marketers from around the world. In total, over 6,000 online publishers, bloggers, global brands, networks, agencies, and more gathered to make new connections  and leverage new insights toward improving their businesses. Lab6 Media was pleased to be there representing our clients, meeting with new affiliates, and reconnecting with others.

Attending the Blogger Pop Up event

We also participated in the ShareASale/Awin Blogger Pop-Up event, held just prior to ASW18, where affiliates were introduced to new and upcoming features of the networks. Some insightful sessions were provided to help affiliates get the most out of the network tools. We joined affiliates in round table discussions on the topics of FTC disclosure and social media best practices, among others. The opportunity to take part in these kinds of discussions benefits participants at all levels of development.

Proudly speaking at Affiliate Summit once again

Our own Karen Garcia presented a workshop session at Affiliate Summit with Carolyn Tang Kmet and Lessie Purpera on the topic of “Using Analytics to Improve Your Affiliate Marketing.” The topic centered on understanding the metrics important to monitoring the success of your affiliate traffic, both for affiliates and merchants. When considering performance, it is often easiest to slip into the mindset of expecting your affiliates to improve your metrics simply by sending more traffic. While this is technically the case, there are many things an affiliate manager can do to assist and benefit the workflow of affiliates to nurture their growth. Similarly, there are ways affiliates can find to work more effectively with merchants to communicate and collaborate, all of which can improve performance for everyone. Click here to download a copy of the presentation and some helpful Excel workbooks.

Wrapping up another success filled conference

We always love attending Affiliate Summit. It continues to be the best conference in the affiliate marketing space, year after year. The contacts and relationships developed are priceless. If you have never attended, you should add the next event to your calendar (details on the Affiliate Summit website.) There are conferences for both East and West coast, as well as an upcoming European date in London. In addition to all of the networking opportunities and education, we get spoiled at the evening events hosted by the various Affiliate Summit sponsors. Our favorite is always the Sunday evening party hosted by ShareASale (and now Awin, as well.) This year was no different and we planned ahead to take part in the Famous Duo themed, costume event held in the Jewel Nightclub at Aria. Can you guess who Karen and Joel went dressed as?
